A Friendly Talk: Walking in God's Principles Part One — The Foundation Chapter 3: Believe

There's a moment in Scripture where a desperate father comes to Jesus for a miracle. And when he finally stands face to face with Jesus, you can almost feel the weight in his voice—a desperate trust rising up inside him. The kind of trust that says, "Lord... I need You. I really need You." And honestly, we've all been there. Life corners us, squeezes us, flips us upside down like a sock in the dryer—and suddenly the only step left is a step of trust. Not because we're super spiritual, but because there's nowhere else to turn. This father reaches Jesus and says, "If You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us. "That was his first step—trust. Then Jesus replies, "All things are possible to the one who believes." And the father takes his second step: "I believe—help my unbelief." That moment teaches us something powerful: it's not about perfection. It's about truth. It's about honesty—the real condition of your heart. Praying to God with how you actually feel. Coming to Him just as you are, without excuses and without hiding from the truth. There is no one more loving than our God. His concern is our honest heart in our time of need.

God sees the heart. And yes, sometimes our hearts feel cluttered—worry after worry, mistake after mistake, failure after failure. But God's compassion and mercy search through all that clutter, and underneath it all He sees is the truth:

Your honesty.

Your need for help.

Your desire for direction.

Your longing for transformation.

And when He sees that honesty, He reaches out His right hand to lift you up.

Every time you come to Jesus Christ with truth—every time you take that step of trust—you are feeding, nurturing, and strengthening your belief. Trust becomes the soil where belief grows. Belief becomes the ground where faith takes root.

And faith becomes the confidence to keep walking with God one step at a time.

Hebrews 4:16 (NKJV)

"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."

Final Thoughts

Revelation 3:20 (NKJV)

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me."

This verse isn't just about answering a call. It's an invitation to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Think about that for a moment. Jesus is the One knocking. He isn't forcing the door open. He stands at the door and waits for us to respond. And when we open the door, He comes in to be with us. That's the heart of God's love. A closeness that begins with an open heart. The invitation has never been about condemnation. It has always been about knowing God personally through Jesus Christ. He desires that we talk with Him, walk with Him, learn from Him, and grow closer to Him each day. And the beautiful part is this:

When we open the door to Jesus, we discover that the greatest blessing isn't something He gives us. It's Jesus Himself. It's a relationship with Him. It's about experiencing His peace, His love, and His grace in our daily lives, and feeling loved and cherished.

And no matter how many times it takes—yes, again and again—you get up. You look up. You pray. You look forward and keep going, step by step, principle by principle.

Not chasing perfection but bringing an honest heart that loves the truth.

God's concern is to help you and to hear from you.

The closer you walk with Him, the further you stand from the enemy.

Again: You don't have to believe perfectly. You just have to come honestly.

Take a breath. Take a step. And trust that God's got the rest.

And remember—God doesn't just guide us with wisdom and purpose; He also blesses us with moments of joy, laughter, and peace along the journey.

😉 You know, someone in the Bible once got direction too—Balaam. God literally used a talking donkey to get his attention. So, trust me, you're already ahead of Balaam today. Through prayer, and you don't need a donkey.

Why did the donkey become a great motivational speaker?

Because he knew how to turn every "hee-haw" into a "He can!" 😅

God bless.
