Without these three—trust, belief, and faith—we won't fully surrender our understanding to God. Jesus is the bridge to God for our eternal life, and these three are the bridge that lead us to Jesus Christ through His Word.
And out of the three, trust is the first thing we must surrender. It starts with wanting enough for yourself to seek the truth.
Think about the desperate father in the Bible who came to Jesus for a miracle. Before he had everything figured out, before his belief was fully established, he took a step of trust—he went looking for Jesus.
That's where trust begins.
Trusting God enough to seek Him. Trusting His Word not for self-gain, but for God's glory.
You may ask, why?
In simple words: the closer we are to God, the further we are from the enemy.
Now, I'm not saying we should blindly trust and believe everyone. That's not wisdom—that's trouble waiting to happen. What I am saying is this: Talk to God. Pray. Read His Word. That's where real trust begins.
To be honest, trust is one of the hardest things for us to give. We trust our phones to wake us up, our cars to start, and our coffee makers to deliver that first essential cup of motivation. But trusting God? That's where things get interesting.
Another why?
Because trusting God means surrendering control—and we love control. We love knowing what's next, how things will turn out, and what the plan is. But it's in those moments of uncertainty that we're called to stand firm, to lean into God on purpose, and to acknowledge that He is the source of wisdom.
That's the beginning of understanding.
That's the beginning of surrender.
That's the beginning of walking in God's principles.
And if you feel like you're not getting it perfect—don't worry. None of us do. If God could work with Moses, Jonah, Peter, and a talking donkey... trust me, He can work with us too.
Take a breath. Take a step. And trust that God's got the rest—even if your coffee maker doesn't.
Proverbs 3:5–6 (NKJV)
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."
Final Thoughts
Because everything begins with trusting God. When you trust Him, you open the door for belief to grow and for faith to take root.
Trust is the quiet confidence that God is who He says He is. Trust is the steady anchor when life feels uncertain.
And remember: You don't have to trust perfectly. You just have to trust honestly.
Take a breath. Take a step. And trust that God's got the rest.
Just as a strong bridge has to rest on something trustworthy (because nobody wants a wobbly bridge 😅), our lives rest on the One we can trust completely.
And remember—God doesn't just guide us with wisdom and purpose, He also blesses us with moments of joy, laughter, and peace along the journey.
